What is Lakes Environmental?
Lakes Environmental provides resource management, building control and other regulatory services on behalf of the Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC). Since April 2007 the company has been 100% owned by QLDC. Lakes Environmental was originally established as a private company, CivicCorp (Civic Corporation Ltd) and has provided services to the Queenstown Lakes District Council since 1998.
When do I need Lakes Environmental's services?
On behalf of the Queenstown Lakes District Council, Lakes Environmental is responsible for overseeing the districts' building, bylaw and general enforcement, dangerous goods management, district plan management, dog control, environmental health, land information memorandums (LIMs), liquor licensing, parking, planning, project information memorandums (PIMs) and roading legalisation.
If you are planning a building or other project that requires consent,
you will need to talk to us.
You need to register your dog each year with us, license your bar or restaurant with us and you can pay your parking fines with us.
